Revit’s Adaptive Components are useful for drawing model elements that have repetitive shapes that require flexibility. In some instances, they can be difficult or cumbersome to place into files, as they require a series of insertion points to be created prior to deploying the family.
For users who work with both Revit and Rhino, Conveyor provides an alternate workflow for adaptive components which enables you to take advantage of free-form modeling in Rhino to create the framework for your adaptive components to be placed.
First, load an adaptive component family into your Revit model. In Rhino, create a framework of polylines for your Adaptive Component points to be placed. Ensure that each polyline is closed and that the direction of each vertex follows the order of the adaptive points in the Revit family.
Next, start Conveyor in your Rhino model, select the polylines, and assign them as Adaptive Families and choose the correct family type. Then select “Send to Revit”.
